“One of the biggest challenges that companies are facing is the changing landscape within the business. There was an interesting article from Gartner, that said 87% of what you're learning today is going to become obsolete in the next 3-5 years”
hrtech.sg's Tech Talks focuses on engaging with HR & HRTech Subject Matter Experts to unearth trends & insights in the realm of HR Technology.
In this edition, we talk to Ganesh Iyer, Founder and CEO, Dotin.
What are the key trends that will be a game-changer for HR teams to adopt HR technology? This year is called the ‘year of resignation’. The reason is very simple. Many employees are still stepping down and saying to their boss, “I can't take this anymore, I need to take a break and try to understand how to strike a balance between professional and personal life.’ While this is all happening, the game-changer will be how HR teams source the talent better. The key trend will be how they screen the talent better in terms of understanding technical and non-technical skills. What is the role of HR in the digital transformation journey for the hybrid workforce? Now, HR leaders are an integral part of every boardroom discussion. Previously, HR was seen as an operational center. Now it's seen as a profitability center. Unless you have the right person who can make a difference and help the organization transform into this new norm, there is no transformation happening. So, this has brought about a mindset change at the board level. Now, people are being looked at from the perspective of strategy and execution. Key Mantra for Employee Experience: The key mantra would be understanding the talent in a way that would be tied to their core motivations and values. If you do that right and provide some personalized solutions in terms of showing the right jobs, training curriculum and mentors, that goes a long way in terms of not only internally meeting their expectations, but also bringing the aspect of productivity, retention and employee satisfaction. . It’s a win-win for both, the employee as well as the enterprise. Advice for enterprises looking to embark on their Digital HR Journey: What would be important for every leader is to take a phased approach and understand what is really impacting their day-to-day operations and focus on solving those issues first before focusing on other aspects. So, take it as a layered approach and focus on a few verses all and keep an open mind because it can be a bumpy ride as you get into this transformation.
